Good morning, today I am going to talk about The movie Dirty dancing. I absolutely love that movie. the music is timeless and powerful, the story line is classic and sweet, as it gives me shivers every time I hear it, and see it. When he says ”nobody puts a baby in a corner” that one always give me the shivers as well. I think it really messes things up for the people who love the movie, to redo it,  is just taking the magic out of it. Anyway For the true fans of the movie and the actors this movie will never get old.

thoughts?? :)

How Many of you are horse lovers? if you are you should see the Lipizzaner stallions? If you have not seen them you should go see them or look them up on YouTube. Anyway they are my favorite animal in the world being they are horses and horses are my favorite animal. I love them because they are so graceful. The lipizan stallions have been bred for the war with their muscle build and short body at only 16HH average.  The move in dressage have evolved from moves used to protect riders in battle. The Courbette (a very high rear) was used to keep his rider out of reach of swords. My favorite move is the Capriole(Airs Above The Ground) When the horse jumps in the air and kicks out with its back legs, original use to protect the rider by knocking the rider off his horse. I like it because only the Lipizzaner can do it natural, other horses like an Andalusian can do it but with years of vigorous training, where it comes naturally for the Lipizzaner.  This is a horse that should be admired through all eternity because the are a legend.

here is a video of the dancing Stallions…

When ever I see these horses dance I get a shiver down my spine.  :)

Hi everyone, today I am going to talk about a Canadian Icon, no not the beavers or the caribou.  Big Ben…The Horse.  He was actually not born in Canada, he was born in Belgium his home name was Winston. He was a Tall young horse who loved to jump out of his home paddock that’s when his owner found out he loved to jump, so they started to train him to go in the show ring.  At first he was awkward and clumsy, but as he got used to the tight show conditions he got better and more careful until he reached a Grande Prix level, years latter in Canada Ian Millar was looking a new Grande Prix horse, his groom said “hey I think you should go to Belgium and look at this horse” “okay” says Ian.. Once they get to the ranch where he is, and he is looking at him and test riding him he sees potential in him and buys him. Now Ben had been in an isolated paddock for about a year with not much contact from humans or other horses. Ian had to  reintroduce him to people and other horses at his farm in Ontario Then they started Jumping and one the Grand Prix at Spruce Meadows That spring. and The olympic gold that year and my years after. He was succesful for a lot of years. He was even inducted into the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame  They had a few heath scares with him. The all dreaded Colic.

Here is a link to one of the many videos of him: >>> Big Ben legendary Hero     Check it out..

Todays animal of the day is…..  The duck-billed platypus is in a group of animals called monotremes, which are egg laying mammals. there is only one other animal in its group called an echidna (ah-kid-na) they both live in Australia. The duck-billed platypus is  a weird-looking animal with a beaver like tail a duck like nose(bill) and webbed feet.  It lives in burrows on the water side of river banks. The duck-billed platypus  can’t see very well so it uses its duck-like bill to feel around, like a cats whiskers. It is a very accomplished swimmer as it uses its front and kind feet as rudders.  I think these animals are really cool because no one really pays any attention to them no one would really care if they went exstinked. i Think people should really pay attention to the weird not just the beauty because weird is beautiful too..

Thanks for reading I hope some of you think the way i do..  :) :P

Hi everyone, I am going to start a new thing call “Animal of the week”

Todays animal is the elephant…:

I think elephants are not talked about much because people think they very interesting… well I think they are very interesting and fascinating animals. They can smell water over 50 miles away from any water source. They even smell water when it is under ground, and elephants have been known to dig for water with there tusks and feet.    The two well known elephants are the African and Asian elephant.

This is an African elephant They are the biggest elephant and biggest land mammal on the planet.   They typically live for 50 to 70 years, but the oldest recorded elephant lived for 82 years. The largest elephant ever recorded was shot in Angola in 1956. This male weighed about 24,000 lb (11,000 kg), (12 tons) with a shoulder height of 3.96 metres (13.0 ft), a metre (yard) taller than the average male African elephant.

This is an Asian elephant it is significantly smaller than the African elephant.

Sure elephant have been known to kill humans but usually by a carrying female or with a baby, or a rogue male in heat. The truth is humans have killed more elephants than elephants have killed humans..

tomorrow will be a new animal and a new day….

Have fun reading. :)
